NYE
Casually spent New Year's Eve at a friend's house and roamed around on the streets around the area, the local school which we all think is a shit hole, ate heaps of food, watched fireworks from the sidewalk and also wasted many a sparkler and party popper.
Good times with great mates.

Yashica
I bought a cheap Japanese camera, with only 5 mega pixels and an equally unimpressive and disproportional optical zoom. Why?
I was very impressed with the Yashica EZ Digital F521's range of affects and filter lens for a digital hand-held camera and the range it showed. It looked so damn good I bought it off eBay without properly looking at a review of it.
And somehow I'm still happy with it.
I always prided myself on avoiding cheap affects that would make photographs achieve some level above the novice level and the fact that everything taken in black and white photography can be judged as good.
Although I still hold with my camera morals, I can't help but take a few quick snaps and pop them up on here. Especially when I'm avoiding summarising an entire novel as holiday homework.

Vintage Barbie
I would like to point out just how dusty and unloved that Barbie is, she was a decorative container for a child's shampoo which I held onto in my youth, and may have also endured one home move too. She sits on top of my sock drawer and her youth is untouched still after years in the sun and her long blonde hair remains in the carefully combed and sculpted locks.
I think this is why I always sort of resented Barbie, I knew she set unrealistic goals of beauty; I just had no idea of expressing this notion or had had an epiphany informing me of such a revelation.

Hot Pants
Even if I can never draw human faces correctly there is something to be said about my admiration for the subtle and sweet curves of the human form; the legs the stomach the arms and hair are all delightful to draw. However there's something to be said about the way I interpret the face, it seems the tiniest little line that is out of place makes it all seem horribly wrong and alien to me. I simply hate to draw faces.

Snow can be yellow
Who remembers this ad from Australia for Christmas? Yes it still sticks in my mind and I can remember it pretty much word for word:
Why should you be a Christmas M&M (audition)
I kinda wish there was snow around at Christmas time, but then again, I do love having a long holiday over Christmas time and New Year's during Summer which for Australia means lots of sweaty festivals and gigs :)

Merry Punch-Face Day
Shopping on Boxing Day on Chapel Street with my friends and all I have to show for it is a photograph of grafitti. Typical Adele.
My friends brother thought Chapel Street was a street with a lot of churches on it. He is bound to be the next John Howard or Kevin Rudd and the very thought of that makes me proud and chokes me up with tears.

Because of Christmas Day
Presents just about outnumbering the tree in height, if we piled them all up one upon another in something resembling a wonky bean stalk wrapped in festive paper.
My brother is just so happy and enthused on Christmas day.
And pissed on with my stealthy photography.
One of Ross' two new watches, good coordination from my parents who are still married.
And that's all my snaps from Christmas. I'm not in any because I do the camera work and don't have to be in any photos this way.

It's Christmas Eve
A day before Christmas and we started and finished decorating the tree this year, an all time low and shameful effort from my family. I personally blame it on my lack of enthusiasm and everyone else just being at the point where there are no young children in the family and therefore less effort has to be put into the holiday season.

It's my wonderwall
I've been sprucing up the wall just next to me bed as of late and purging my copy of British Vogue by taking out the ads. Chanel and Burbery have gotten the chop so far and I'm still looking at a few other pages since I doubt I'm really going to have the time to read it.
It's at least a little more productive this way.

Toxic Flush
All the photos I had stored away on my Hard Drive are gone, the old computer has gone either to heaven or to hell and refuses to start up. All my lovely photographs which I wanted to draw are gone too and I am all in all in a pretty shit mood. Technology is just wonderful sometimes isn't it?
Thankfully two new cameras arrived two days ago, my days as a Christmas casual for Chanel are over and now the stress of having to pack for my 20 day trip to America and the rush to finish my Literature and Chemistry homework may begin.
Life just keeps on finding new ways to delight and enthrall me.
Here's my desk, showing off the immaculate detail of my new 12 mega-pixel camera and also my appalling aversion of wanting to do any cleaning. It actually was clear a few weeks ago, and then it just got engulfed in more paper and mugs and stuff.

Skull-duggery
My impression of a sterling silver skull with decorative floral motif, distributed by the lovely people from Iggy and Lou Lou. I wish I owned one and could carry out the whole Hamlet routine of 'Alas poor Yorick, I knew him well...' scene. Or at least photograph myself holding it and looking pensive in black and white; or better yet if I can master it with a 'negative' effect of white being black and black being white.

Dumbo
Oh hello plasticine elephant I created in Year 8 art, back in the day when art was a compulsory and an important part of your education. I did do art in year 9, just sewing and working with textiles.
Anyway, broken, lonely sad shell of an elephant sitting on my shelf of my desk. It looks like it's had such a hard life, I don't have the heart to throw it away just yet.

Eyes Through a Fish
A street named Irvine.
Our front yard.
Federation Square in the city of Melbourne.
Worst photograph of a seagull imagineable.
The bus stop where I think I have spend at least 5 hours of the last year sitting at. Or standing when I am unlucky.
Fountain I decided to photograph while on a date with Hamish.
Melbourne Show.
Melbourne Show Lamb :D
Ferris Wheel
Snaps from a picnic sitting near the Parklife festival with friends :)
I can't wait for better photographs with more sensitive film for when I go to America.
