Teddy Bears' Picnic

Or do these guys look more like bad news bears? Tell you what, those claws like mighty ferocious and could rip your face off sweety if you get a little too close. Perhaps they could, if only they had the energy to stand up rather than spend the entire day napping in the shade looking bored. San Diego, California, January 2011.

Them Crooked Vultures

They always seem a bit conspiratorial, black, vulgar, shady creatures don't they vultures? I guess you earn that sort of reputation if you enjoy eating whatever drops dead and pick them apart rather neatly. Those scrawny little necks, perched upon bald pink heads. Massive black wings that could swallow you up never to be seen again.

Tame Impala

Seeing and photographing lazy beautiful looking animals in the sun cheers me up. Especially ones as majestic as these beauties with their brown fur and small horns.

A kangaroo obsessed with scratching his balls and lying around on the ground without a care in the world. You could not believe my reaction, I thought he was adorable and considered him an icon of my country.

Big Brother

I think the height of my paranoia can be indicated by how far my imagination can spiral out of control and how well I can convince myself that I am being spied upon. I mistook this lantern at first glance in a tree at the San Diego Zoo for a giant eyeball watching my every moment and never blinking. Then I took revenge on it by snapping it with my camera.

Loch Ness Monster of the Savvanah

Tall slender long necked giraffes, most vulnerable when they are drinking water when they carefully balance four legs and balance their weight. They have a kick strong enough to kill a lion and swing their heads around like clubs to attack their enemies.
The movie Madagasgar sure did not portray giraffes as the badasses that they truly are.
