I was raised on Kodak desposable cameras.

Sequential shots

One of many shots at fast action speed in sequential order. I took heaps of fountains, jumping killer whales and merry go rounds. I think that sums up my trip entirely.

Artisan's Hands

Just a neat shot of a man who I met down in Balboa Park in San Diego who analysed our handwriting for a donation fee :)

Apparently my closed capital D's mean I'm good at keeping secrets and things confidential so look out CIA and FBI because my handwriting says I'm a good candidate. Also my slanted writing means that I tend to be a little sad all the time. Close dots on my 'i's indicate that I have incredible attention to detail which was true. It was a fun little thing to do for 20 minutes of my life :)
It's also apparently an accepted science guize.

Send in more trees

Gorgeous sunset for a city that has some pretty outrageous smog and smoke problems. More trees is what I think it needs personally.

Black to the basics

Doc Martens and Vans. I guess I'm not very imaginative when it comes to colours.

"I'm Melting" - cried the witch

I really love drawing the human figure and animals but hate doing faces since they're always so detailed and expressive and when you make an error in a line it's immediately noticeable... but with the shape and flow of lines of say the torso and legs it's so much easier :)

Maybe not when you have the precision of black on white stripes but thise is one of my favourite drawings I've done so far.
I should've kept colouring in with the fine liner rather than coloured in with black pencil. Lesson learnt.

Double Decker

A double storey merry-go-round in a shopping centre. A sign of western decadence? Perhaps, but it's frickin' rad so I don't care and since I live in a western country and culture I doubley don't care :D

My little slice of home, a kangaroo. I felt instantly better whenever I saw an Australian animal whilst overseas.
I was overjoyed when I took a photograph of a kangaroo at San Diego zoo scratching its balls.

In front of my favourite icon. I didn't go for a ride on it though :(
I regret it.

Do you know the muffin man?

Well she's married to... the muffin man.
Picture of yours truly trying on a beanie in the shape of an iced cupcake with sprinkles and a cherry on top. I didn't but it.

We are not the kids we used to be

Old crows lie in the mouth of the beast
Slip beneath it's tongue, cradled by it's teeth
We roam from shore to shore
From the open sky to the ocean floor
The more we move the less we owe ourselves
And when we finally stop we change to something else.

Kids! It snowed!

Well, kinda. It's the closest thing they have to snow in the sunny state of good old California. And I am proud to tell you that this is because I was staying with them but I didn't do it. Done at 2.00am by fellow Aussies and their host American families. Brilliant.

Charge

This is a close up of the dog that chewed my $80 sunglasses. I don't think I'll ever get an English Bulldog. I saw her vomit once, it looked pink like salmon and like goop. Fun times.

Purple stars of Disneyland

Taking a break in a line and I still can't leave the camera alone; felt the need to break it out to test some of the finer details of life rather than large sweeping shots of me or other people in tourist destinations. A change of pace perhaps?

So long and thanks for all the fish

With flash

Without flash

Unfortunately my desk lamp as bright as it is comes off as a somewhat sickly yellow colour when its illuminates the basic lined paper I draw on. Finished all in one day, on Sunday and I was so inspired that I did another better drawing and tried something new after this one. The flow of lines and rough carpet was easy to do and the curves of the TOMS were easy to draw :)

Ways to say I love you

My best friend gave my friendship group rolls of candy hearts with little messages on them. I still have them actually all preserved in an air tight tin and I think I'll share them with my boyfriend one day once I take a proper photo of them in a shot with one of my favourite pieces of jewellery which is my Matina Amanita 'Broken' heart ring and some lace. I'll eat the one that says Dream On though since it's not exactly sending the right message to my beloved.
