Walk this way

This is something I should definitely consider drawing again, on better paper with better pencils in colour on better paper and put more effort into. But for a quick drawing which again reminded me the difficulties of shading in darkly with grey lead pencil it taught me a valuable lesson. Now if I could just remember that fact...

I see you

Glasses, they don't see but only allowe people to see through them and improve their vision. I almost wish I needed glasses just because it'd give my face another distinguishing feature and somethign exciting and interesting. Ray Bans have the coolest glasses, I wish I needed long sight or short sight glasses so I could wear them all day long.

Schoolyard smart

For university I am going to be dapper. No longer will I settle for the mediocrity of school bags. I will use Country Road bags only for work and I will use leather, Kikki K has some amazing leather travel wallets and stuff like that and of course diaries which they don't discount into the month of April... I was counting on that so I could get a cool dairy for cheap but I guess I don't have time to keep a journal and my life isn;t exciting anyway.
Next year I will be exciting and I will have an amazing leather satchel and keep my secrets in it. And an equally amazing yet colourful and bright diary.

Tea for Two

I definitely need to redo this one in a watercolour. The graphite lines are just too bare. There’s hardly any substance in this, there’s no bright contrast of the tea in the teacup or the table like an ocean of varying degrees of blue. I haven’t done justice too his one, it is at best a poor imitation.

Itty Bitty Baby

As much as I love the photographs where the the lens isn't perfectly focused, everything is a little blurry or the colours are wil and dream-like they are about the worst things to draw and immitate. As if I didn't have enough problems getting down basic lines and drawing figures there's distortion too. This is why I generally prefer photography to drawing since all you really need to do is push on the shutter-button for camera-work. Only the serious people get into composition, lighting and all that which I am still yet to thoroughly explore just yet.

Ammunition

Armed with rolls of film of ISO speed 400 (highest ISO speed I've used so far) and a trusty camera on a sunny day I feel happy and powerful. I can capture moments in time and freeze it, prevent death from getting his grip on living things and preserve them happily and frame them as momentos. Nothing bad can happened when I'm in the right mood and I have a film camera on a sunny day. I know my pictures won't turn to shit and be blurry nonsensical grey blobs on shiny paper.

Very Superstitious

So obviously I just haven't learnt that valuable lesson yet that when you colour in large copious amounts with a greylead pencil the better alternative was to carefully use a fineliner or maybe oil pastel because the light bounces off and the thin paper warps and you just get all these weird problems...

Eyes of the bluest sky

Gotta love having the school holidays to relax and recharge my batteries. Time to catch up on work, time to catch up and get ahead on the term's work ahead of me and the upcoming exams for Chemistry and Physics and explore my creative side and draw. In a few months I'll be able to churn these babies out like a machine when VCE is all over.

"I'm Melting" - cried the witch

I really love drawing the human figure and animals but hate doing faces since they're always so detailed and expressive and when you make an error in a line it's immediately noticeable... but with the shape and flow of lines of say the torso and legs it's so much easier :)
Maybe not when you have the precision of black on white stripes but thise is one of my favourite drawings I've done so far.
I should've kept colouring in with the fine liner rather than coloured in with black pencil. Lesson learnt.

So long and thanks for all the fish

With flash

Without flash
Unfortunately my desk lamp as bright as it is comes off as a somewhat sickly yellow colour when its illuminates the basic lined paper I draw on. Finished all in one day, on Sunday and I was so inspired that I did another better drawing and tried something new after this one. The flow of lines and rough carpet was easy to do and the curves of the TOMS were easy to draw :)

Hot Pants

Even if I can never draw human faces correctly there is something to be said about my admiration for the subtle and sweet curves of the human form; the legs the stomach the arms and hair are all delightful to draw. However there's something to be said about the way I interpret the face, it seems the tiniest little line that is out of place makes it all seem horribly wrong and alien to me. I simply hate to draw faces.

Skull-duggery

My impression of a sterling silver skull with decorative floral motif, distributed by the lovely people from Iggy and Lou Lou. I wish I owned one and could carry out the whole Hamlet routine of 'Alas poor Yorick, I knew him well...' scene. Or at least photograph myself holding it and looking pensive in black and white; or better yet if I can master it with a 'negative' effect of white being black and black being white.

Owl always love you

How rad is this? I've seen another tattoo on the back, which is a wolf's head and it looks fantastic. Just really sick. I mean, it's behind you so when you get old you don't see much of it anyway but it's one of those things that I'd always feel tentative about getting.
That and the pain would be a bitch. Think I'll just stick to drawing them on paper and then maybe, I'll photocopy these things and then watercolour over the top of them. I'd love to be able to do that to a high standard, I just love the way they look and fade into the background.
