Broken Hearted

I am beginning to build up an obsession and amour for all rings gold; a very costly fetish! Two gold heart rings are in my little and humble collection; a vintage signet ring that is very sweet but thin as well and my broken heart ring from Matina Amanita. I wore the two of them to my birthday lunch the day before my eighteenth. Sadly I don't wear a lot of jewellery everyday anymore at school because I write a lot more than I used to and fiddly jewellery tends to get in the way a lot. I'm looking forward to working in retail at the end of the year; maybe then I can care about my appearance and splash out on some more jewellery. It's been a while since I last tested out or used the close-up features of my camera; I tend to forget that during the focusing on the digital screen used as a guide to what the photograph will look like is a bit blurry but after the shutter button is pressed the photo comes out in focus. It never fails to surprised me when I haven't used it in a while.

Festive Remnants

Remnants of the Christmas in July costumes include this cute pipe cleaner candy cane that I assume to have originated from a Christmas tree costume. I was really pleased to see the amount of effort people put in to make their costumes and get into the Christmas spirit. Also very happy we managed to get rid of two hundred plus cups of red and green jelly as well as two hundred and fifty lolly bags. Go team!

Wicked Witch of the West

Playing around wearing my Zara top and a party hat from a bonbon left over on the ground neatly folded up from the Year 12 costume day Christmas in July. I always seem to have a weird fascination with the party hats and their portrayal in variations. In Harry Potter the wizard bonbons provide even better hats than the paper thing crepe ones we Muggles get. I also think there was a touching scene in which The Doctor (Doctor Who Christmas Special 2010) spends the eve of Christmas with Abigail Pettigrew family and they all have their hats on and are breaking bonbons and look very merry; the perfect postcard snapshot of a family Christmas. With a dapper 900- something year old alien who wears a bow tie. Point of all this weird science fiction trivia about paper crown hats is that I really like them and pay close attention to their appearance in television specials and when they are on the ground. On day I'm just going to buy a box of fourteen bonbons all for myself and collect the hats and jokes and turn them into bunting somehow. I'm not sure how that would all work together but I can make it work.

Dungeons and Dragons

I'm writing this and took these photographs as a way to have a little break from doing my Physics homework and reduce the tasks which I have to write or hold a pen. I feel like I'm going to get RSI from doing Year 12 alone, the amount of writing and homework things I have to do every night is getting on the ridiculous side.

On the plus side I remembered where the little purple dragon was for the plastic castle and the dust look is sort of good but also a sad reminder that I am not a child anymore and I am getting closer to some parts of my life and further away from the happier parts.

Cheshire Cat

The Cheshire cat in all his lovely curvy and stripey self. I almost bought a Cheshire cat trucker hat when I accidentally wandered in to a sex shop but I didn't since I never wear hats and don't really have the hair to pull it off anymore. I don't like to wear hats since I don't have a front fringe anymore and my hair looks a little better out I think. I think dressing up as the Cheshire cat for a costume party would be a lot of fun once you got the right patterned material and some purple and pink fur...

Holga CMY

The Holga CMY; what I consider to be one of the holy grails of my collection though there are a few. I only ever saw this beautiful piece of plastic go up on eBay for purchase once and I made sure I seized the opportunity. Including postage it cost my less for the Holga CMY starter kit than the Holga starter kit in black at the Australian online store Lofico. Felt a massive sense of achievement and relief when it came to my door, I love everything about this camera, my new girlfriend the Holga. Bright amazing colours, lightweight body and simplistic controls. Cheap plastic leans and a little light strap to hold her up. Soft body that feels good to have when you're travelling a real good camera. I haven't taken her for a test drive yet even though I had the chance to but I want to put her to the test when the weather is better and there's more sunlight out. I want to see something really special when I develop those first rolls of film with her.

Purple Elephant

Went to the zoo via a few different trains with my boyfriend, I wanted to be lame and look at the tigers, elephants and orangutans for Indonesian to help me decide which animal to discuss in detail for my Indonesian oral examination. He tolerates me dragging him around places. I have a thing for elephants especially the little purple variety than you can use as a little bag or maybe just something to hold a credit card and a train ticket. To my delight I can just fit two rolls of 35mm film in there as well... so it's also going to become an ammunition holder when the end of my school year winds down.

Nebulae

Black Milk Leggings came in the mail today HUZZAH! I fulfilled my wish to become the owner of a rad pair of these leggings and I did it. I'd love to put them in a time capsule somewhere for my older self to find and muse about. I wonder how fashion will change then... I'm wearing my shirt tails out to cover up my thighs and ass since it's a size M and maybe I needed an L (beggars can't be choosers) I'll just have to pick up more shifts at work and hit the exercise bike more to work it off. Or let my body feed of the fat stored or just cut down on chocolate. But chocolate is so good...

I always told myself I would refuse to wear leggings as pants but these babies are just so beautiful and they're going to inspire me to lose weight and they are awesome.

Weak Graffiti

I was never a really good rule-breaker, I left my mark in typical Aussie larrikin fashion saying a big old friendly hello to the country I had explored around for two weeks and would be leaving soon. It was fun while it lasted but I missed my friends and family back too much to stay away from the sun burnt country for too long.

No pain, no gain

Was planning on bringing out these babies for a little photo shoot in my room and since I freed up a lot of space by cleaning my room I now have a fairly neutral backdrop which I can use in conjunction with my tripod! I broke the smalled 15cm high one I was using before for about the third time and it looks as if it's not worth trying to salvage it again so the shots are a little wonky since I had to rest the camera on top of the broken tripod while balancing myself in these cat print silk pumps a la Miu Miu 2010 style. They are by far a lot cheaper than the real thing but too small for my feet to properly wear. I have to wait till I get so old that I start shrinking before I can wear them :(
Hurt a fair bit but I have been dying to use these in a shoot conducted by myself, if I can find my frilly socks then I may do a second one with a different camera or in a different set up to see if I improve.

I collect Cameras

Went to the city with my mother on Saturday and checked out Zara. When we waited outside the queue with the velvet ropes seemed a bit much but even with the expansive floorspace it looked as if they needed to control the amount of people that went in and out. Mother says her colleagues called it an expensive Supre but the quality did blow me away (as did the price tags, ouch). I was a little annoyed that they had copied Prada S/S 2011 so blatantly borrowing the bright colour scheme of orange, pink blue and green as well as horizontal stripes but I bought a stripey green and black top and mum got black blouse with white polka dots. I love my new top, makes me feel like the Wicked Witch of the West and looks really good with black jeans. Can't wait to wear it around my boyfriend.

I felt a little bored so I brought my cameras out to play using the blouse as a background including my new Polaroid Barbie camera which I have yet to test considering the cost of the new Impossible Project 600 film and the fact I have almost 500 photographs to print at Harvey Norman while they still have 9 c prints on offer. Really should begin to use my Diana cameras more, rather than just admire they way they look.
