Meet me down by the water

Coronado Bay, January 2011. Harbour city view, palm trees, jetty, holiday villas, a ferry ride and a man paddling some sort of boat. What I would give to be back in sunny California and not miserable wet and grey Melbourne.

Tame Impala

Seeing and photographing lazy beautiful looking animals in the sun cheers me up. Especially ones as majestic as these beauties with their brown fur and small horns.

Fairytale

Red toadstool with sort of a white dusting, the true stuff made of fairy tales. A house fit for a fairy.. It got even lovelier after I took this photograph, the cap of it expanded and widened and it would've looked even better had someone not sliced a bit of it off cleanly with a knife. I hope they didn't try to eat it or poison someone with it.

Work cut out for me

Approximately 280 blank spaces for photographs in a rather large album bought from Disneyland, still have to go through my digital photographs taken on my Fujifilm S1800 camera from my trip and pick through my favourites from my holiday as well as sort through 3 undeveloped rolls, two of 120 format film presently as well as the shots I am going to take at my school formal in just 2 short weeks. I will have my work cut out for me soon and I look forward to it. But in the meantime school is interfering with my life.

Walk this way

This is something I should definitely consider drawing again, on better paper with better pencils in colour on better paper and put more effort into. But for a quick drawing which again reminded me the difficulties of shading in darkly with grey lead pencil it taught me a valuable lesson. Now if I could just remember that fact...

Skippy the Bush Kangaroo

On the other side of the world in Sunny San Diego Zoo I found my own little piece of home: a red kangaroo. But not just any kangaroo. A kangaroo obsessed with scratching his balls and lying around on the ground without a care in the world. You could not believe my reaction, I thought he was adorable and considered him an icon of my country.

Rocky Balboa Park

I definitely wish I had more time to scope out the Natural History Museum and actually go inside the building but alas, we were short on time and merely waiting and wasting time. That hour or so between the time we left the zoo and were waiting to get picked up by the bus.
